dear van,
i clicked the wrong button and deleted your blog! i'm soooooooo sad! i was keeping letters to you from the time you were 14 weeks old in the tummy, and now they are gone. i'm sorry little guy. i will do my best to repeat those thoughts, but i know it's not the same.
today you are 30 weeks in the tummy. i got some bad news today that i have a health condition called gestational diabetes. this condition can be hard on you and it worries me that my bad habits are affecting you. i will be meeting with a couple different types of doctors soon to find solutions to keep you safe.
so, let's do some catching up here. you are mommy and daddy's 2nd baby and first boy. you have a big sister we call "bug". she's 2.5 years old, and is quite the amazing little person. she already loves you and talks about you constantly. she now hugs and kisses you goodnight. and, she's taking her job of teaching you about your toys very seriously (she practices how to use your toys ;-p).
your entrance into this world/my womb was non-standard and miraculous. we will tell you all about it some day. suffice it to say that we are extremely humbled by your presence and we are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to be expecting you and cannot wait to meet you.
you have been a busy guy since you arrived in your cozy little home. you spend a lot of time helping me entertain your sissy, and as a result, you've already had some pretty spectacular "firsts". for example, you have had two airplane rides already, you've been to the beach, and you've been in a few pools. it will be that much more fun when you get to experience them on the outside, though :-)
we have been busy getting lots of clothes and toys for you (thanks to generous friends and family!), and daddy just finished painting your room this past weekend. i think you will like it. your sissy helped paint it, too. she says it's "pretty".
oh, buddy. i can't believe i lost all the thoughts i had jotted down for you. i will do my best to recreate them all here, but this is a decent start.
love,
mommy
