hiya, mr. man!
first, the retraction. i blogged a while back that you'd gotten your first tooth and then your second. well, i am wrong. you have two gigantic lumps of sore, swollen skin where those teeth will eventually be, but the teeth have not broken through yet. i guess that you will be like sissy in this regard. every single one of her teeth took MONTHS to come in and tortured her mercilessly in its coming. i'm not sure what it was i felt when i thought your teeth had come through, but it wasn't teeth :-)
and now, for the lukewarm turkey (there is a segue coming...but it's after the fact, so i guess it isn't a segue). you are now swaddle proof. and, we kinda went cold turkey on you...well, more lukewarm turkey b/c we did try to swaddle you in the early morning hours if you couldn't go back to sleep.
after finding you either busted out of your confines or with the whole top half of your confines soaked in drool (b/c you'd push your fist up far enough to chew on it while it was still encased in your confines), i gave up. you now sleep either in the long-sleeved sleep sack thingies that your grammie got you (which are technically too short...you can't straighten your legs out) or in a brand new luxe sleep sack that we got you. you're doing pretty well most of the time, but the combination of no swaddle and badly behaving teeth buds has you waking more often and/or having a harder time going to sleep sometimes. it doesn't help that you have gotten so long that you don't fit comfortably against my chest now...you push with your legs and end up "jumping" in my lap. so, your go-to-sleep routine has changed a little, too...you are happier when i stand to rock/sway you...that way, your bottom and legs are suspended. previously, i would bounce you on the yoga ball for a while and then rock you in your dark, soothing room. no dice. you're not comfy with the yoga ball anymore. sometimes i can just walk you upstairs and sway you around your room for a while. other times, getting you to sleep is a marathon of different tactics.
i love you, my no-so-easy-sleeping little boy!
