hiya, mr. man,
on saturday, you turned 5 months old. you are getting to be such a big boy...i can't believe how fast you are growing and changing. you are rolling from your tummy to your back like a pro now. you just started working on rolling from your back to your tummy today...you stayed on your side, though. i don't think you were really that excited about being on your tummy :-) you are working hard on sitting up. you do pretty well until you fall forward...you aren't able to get your big brain back up very easily so you end up toppling over and onto your tummy, which gets you pretty worked up.
after a full day of fun on saturday, we all came home and realized that something was wrong with our ippy dog. i ended up taking ippy to the emergency vet on saturday night where we learned that she was gravely ill. i took ippy back to the vet sunday morning so that the dr. could gently help ippy go to heaven.
i know you are too young to really miss ippy, but if you could, you would. you seemed to enjoy her immensely. you enjoyed all her kisses/head washings and you grinned and giggled anytime you caught sight of her. i do believe she loved you quite a bit. she became interested in you the minute we brought you home and she made it her personal job to participate in any sleepy-time routines we did with you. she would follow us closely and stay with us anytime we went into your room. if she didn't get there in time to be in the room, she slept outside your door while we rocked you to sleep.
i'm finding your nap time to be really sad right now. the quiet and the solitude give me time to think about ippy and how much i miss her. and then, when you've fallen asleep, i turn to gently wake her and usher her from the room, but she's not there.
i'm sorry i keep crying all over you, buddy. i'm glad that you are too young to understand and/or be upset by my emotions.
i love you, buddy. and ippy loved you, too.
