sleeping in pville

holy cow, dude! you just put yourself to sleep...for the first time in your 6.5 months of life.

lately you have begun to arch and thrash in our arms when we are trying to rock or bounce you to sleep, so we've gotten in the habit of laying you in the crib and turning on your fishies and/or your mobile so you can watch them and chill a little bit. usually, after about 3 to 5 minutes, you start to fuss and we go up and rock you to sleep, which takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

today, the same thing happened with you thrashing and arching, so i did our new procedure and came downstairs to listen to you on the monitor to determine when you'd need me to go up and help you to sleep. next thing i know, the music's off and you're quiet. so, i tip toe up there to check, and sure enough you've rolled onto your tummy and you're sound asleep. i know i shouldn't bank on this happening regularly...or even ever again, but it was a nice surprise today. way to go, little man!
