hiya, mr. man!

yesterday you turned 7 months old. holy cow, dude...time is absolutely flying! you had an appointment with your pedi GI specialist yesterday, and you passed with flying colors. in fact, the dr. released you from her care. we have instructions for weaning you off the evening dose of your zegerid, which scares me a little. *deep breath* we will start the weaning process at the end of the month.

the doc's office measured you...you came in at just under 21 pounds, 30ish inches (you wouldn't hold still for this one), and with a big 'ol head. we knew all of this except your weight. you have been filling out nicely lately. you have scrumptious thighs, lots of rolls when you sit up, and soft, squishy cheeks for kissing. you gained a pound and 6 oz in exactly 1 month. that's pretty good, dude. you were eating us out of house and home for a couple weeks, but in the last week or so, you are not eating quite as much. you are eating solids REALLY well, and i can't figure out of you are wanting less milk b/c you're filling up on foods or if it's because you have FIVE teeth coming in at one time. suckage dude, suckage! of course, i don't have to tell YOU that since it's your mouth that is full of blisters and drool. you have five blisters across the front of your mouth on the top...4 of them have little white points in the center. if the teeth come in as i expect them to, you will have a lopsided little smile for a bit. too cute.

in other news, you're pretty mobile now. you are finally sitting a little better. you had a bit of a regression with sitting. you went from sitting up to a minute to sitting only a few seconds before you flopped back down. i think the key is that you are not interested in being STILL for very long. i have figured out that putting something to hold onto and hit/grab/pull in FRONT of you works better than supporting you from the back. you will sit for several minutes in this fashion. sometimes you fall back and get yourself back up, too. i'm sure it will all come in good time. in the mean time, i really should be enjoying the fact that i can put you in one area and you stay there. that won't be the case for long. i would like if you were less fussy when i put you down, though...you are just MAD that you can't be up and doing like sissy and me. you lay there and FUSS for a few minutes hoping someone will help you up...when no one does, you just roll all around and scoot to get into things.
