hiya, sweet cheeks
well, it's been a big couple weeks for you, buddy. all kinds of things are happening for you...some are really cool, and some are not.
you just had your first trip to MD to see your nana and your baba. you did AWESOME on the plane. you even slept a little bit each flight. you sleep better in daddy's arms than mommy's...daddy's taller and cushier on top than mommy is. too bad i couldn't cuddle you on my hips or thighs, eh? you got a NASTY cold while in MD (courtesy of sissy, i think). in fact, we all have this cold, but you have it the worst. i took you to the dr. yesterday and it turns out you have a double ear infection, eye infection, and sinus infection. you are on a LOT of meds. you are doing better today. your eyes started getting weepy on friday, and i tried to take you to the dr. that treated daddy when he was little, but they wouldn't take you b/c they'd never seen you before. i worried you'd have pain on the flight, but when it came time to land, you laughed HYSTERICALLY. i find this so odd (and pretty funny) considering that less than 24 hours later you were diagnosed with a double ear infection. the popping sensations in your ears must have tickled. thank god it didn't hurt and that your ear drums didn't rupture. you poor boy! on top of all this, you are getting teeth numbers 7 and 8 on the bottom.
in good news, you are crawling and putting yourself back into a sitting position! you started crawling on hands and knees the day after we got to MD. you don't do it all the time, but you switch between hands and knees and army crawling about 50/50. you've gotten yourself back into a seated position a few times, too. i can't tell if you're doing this on purpose or by accident, though. you're pulling up a lot more, too...and falling down. you've gotten a couple nasty bonks on the head. now that we're home and back in our carpeted house, i expect you will be getting around faster and higher. nana and daddy are taking bets that you will be walking pretty early. i'm betting you will walk pretty close to your first birthday. you do like to take steps when someone's holding your hands, though.
you got to meet two tiny puppies at nana's house, and it was love at first sight...for all of you. the puppies loved having someone down on the floor for them to lick and nuzzle. they played with you pretty well and they nibbled your toes only a few times. the three of you shared toys...it's amazing the parallels between dog toys and baby toys :-)
well, buddy. i need to go check on you. you're taking a longer nap than usual, which i'm sure you need considering that you're recovering from travel AND illness, but i like to check on you nonetheless.
i love you, buddy!
