The Proverbial Weed

hiya, quinnzilla!

quinn, you are growing so fast we can almost see it happening. you have outgrown too many outfits to count, you outgrew the height limit on your car seat, your head is now over the top of your high chair and your feet almost completely rest on the foot rest. you went from a size 5 shoe to being tight in a size 6 in just the last four weeks. you are just bigger and bigger all the time.

you are having fun mastering big boy stuff...talking a little more each day. you have started calling me mahmi...it's more like ma'am and me combined than like "mommy." i love it! you've got some reasonably serious separation anxiety and stranger anxiety going on...sometimes. when we're in the house, you wail if i go upstairs without you, and you cling to me if anyone so much as looks at you when we're grocery shopping, but when we're playing at a park or at the sports fields, you just take off on your own and have no problem being 50 yards from me.

you have started to run in just the last couple days...it's pretty cute...and it's a workout for me :-) your last molar finally came through in the last couple days...i'm betting on sometime last night considering that you were up from 3:30 to 4:30 this morning expressing extreme displeasure. you now have all 16 of your 1-year teeth. i am pretty sure i see a swollen lump next to your left bottom molar...i'm betting that you will begin getting your 2-year molars in the next couple months. oh, goody :-p

you are completely down to one nap now, and you are already pushing it back. it started out being from 11:30 to 1:30, but you've already pushed it back to starting around 1 and going until a little before 3. this has caused a slight problem with sissy's preschool pickup time. fortunately, her school has extended care, so we are now picking her up at 3 instead of 2. she doesn't seem to mind, and this way you get closer to two hours for your nap.

speaking of school, i am looking into getting you started this summer a couple half days a week so i can get some work done (you and sissy will both go). i'm about to launch my own website as a "business owner," and you taking only one nap now leaves me with a lot less time to work. i am nervous about putting you in a program, but considering how social and active you are, i'm pretty sure you will adjust quickly and enjoy it.
